After a long wait, here is our first food review! This time, we went to the famous Strictly Pancakes that everyone have been raving about.
Details:
- Not halal certified.
- Have no pork no lard for certain food items.
- Suitable for vegetarians.
- No beef other than the Beef Skewers dish.
So now that we get all the important details done, let's look at some pictures shall we?
It
is just a 5 min walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT station so it is quite easy
to get there. Just walk out of the MRT and walk towards SOTA. Once you see this sign, you know you are at the right
place!
Wanted to take a picture of the shop but the trees were blocking me so I decided to take a picture of the sign on the pathway.
Maple syrup and butter of your choice given to you after you place your order. You will only get it if you ordered the savoury pancakes. There are four kinds of butter for you to choose from [salted, unsalted, garlic + herb, rum & raisin] This time, we choose the salted butter but do get adventurous and try out the other flavors!
Chicken Wings ($8) - This is really worth the money because for just $8, you get four drums and four wings! It is really crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The
sauce that came with it wasn't as good because we thought it was a spicy sauce but it tasted like tomato ketchup.
Beef Skewers ($14) -
Beef skewers comes with salsa and three pancakes, however, do note that
you can downsize your pancakes to two (which is what I did) and $1 will
be deducted. To me, this was nothing special, the beef is quite dry and the
salsa was not to my liking. The pancakes were plain so you can eat it
with the butter and maple syrup.
The Druggie ($11) -
Chocolate pancakes with chocolate sauce, chocolate flakes, chocolate
ice cream and strawberries. You would love it if you love chocolate, it
is nice and rich. The strawberries complements the dish well as you can
have something a little sour to cleanse your palate from the rich
chocolate.
Garlic Buttered Prawns ($14) -
This is just awesome. Comes with three pancakes but you can downsize it
as well. If you don't like the idea of pancakes being a savoury dish,
this will change your mind because it is so good! Must try!
