Carnivore, herbivore, PISHCIVORE?!

Rawr my fellow foodies!

You've definitely heard of carnivores, herbivore, omnivore and Omnomnomnivore, but have you heard of Pishcivore? A pihscivore also known as pescatarianism practices a diet that includes mostly seafood, but not the flesh of other animals and also vegetables.

Actually we're not. Lol.
So the foodsaurus went on a fishing trip and threw our bait and guess what? we waited, we waited and suddenly.... something caught the hook! It was something gigantic.. we reeled it up and BIG & juicy V appeared!!! She isn't edible and found out this she is a fishy pishcivore! One of a kind, rare and unique - loaded with all those juicy fleshy information that we needed! It was a good catch.

Fishiness aside, we sat down with Praveena, a fellow pescetarian in the pool of Republic Polytechnic fishes. So let's see what she has to say!

Just like Praveena,*bloob*bloob*bloob* there are many reasons to why one may consider pescetarianism. One may find an increase of health benefits when being a pescetarian as eating fishes are considered much more healthier than red meat, as it contains low amounts of fats and oils (for those ladies trying to lose weight) , and high amounts of fiber that will reduce risksfor heart disease and other cardiovascular diseases!

Stay fishful to fishes! The video that Praveena mentioned, is the reason why many turned pescetarian, and looking at how cruel it is, we think we are gonna start changing our dino diet and start eating fishes too!

Not only that, more and more prominent  figures are adopting to this new diet! Steve Jobs, Ben Stiller, Howard Stern, Ariana Grande are all Pescetarians! Who knows this might be their secret success formula?!

So try out pescetarianing for a few days and tell us what you fish about it!
Don't be pesky, be a pescetarian!

Swimming away,
The Foodsaurus team.

Yellow Submarines

Peace be upon you my fellow foodies, it’s me Hijab-O-Saurus.  Oh no no, I’m not going to talk about Yellow Submarine by the Beatles but instead I’m going to share with you this place called the Yellow Submarines. Don’t worry you don’t need put on your swimming suit. However, just make sure you’re mentally prepared because the pictures will cause mental aguish and physical pain to your taste buds.

Yellow Submarines is located at Toa Payoh and they are specialised in cheesesteaks sandwiches. Yes, you read them right they are selling Philadelphia c-h-e-e-s-e-s-t-e-a-k-s. It’s exactly the cheesesteaks that I’ve always seen in American TV shows. Fret not my Muslims foodies, they are certified Halal.

Look at that glorious food menu. Other than the classic cheesesteaks, they also have chicken submarine, tuna submarine, vegetables submarine and even burgers.  Yellow Submarines is a fast food self-service restaurant so be sure to keep your eyes vigilant on the display for your queue number.

Yellow Submarine Classic ($6.90 ala carte/ $9.90 meal)

So, as this is my first time trying out cheesesteaks in my 19 years of living I decided to go for the Yellow Submarine classic. You can either go for ala carte ($6.60) or a meal ($9.90), which comes with a free drink and Torpedo Fries.

(PS: I eat this at home hence the different background)

YAAAS GAGA YAS SLAY. When you unwrap the wrapper it’s feels like you’re opening a birthday present. And bam you are greeted with this magnificent cheese and beef.

The beef is nicely sliced and cooked to tender and juicy perfection. The baguette roll is faultless - crusty exterior and soft interior and top with the pile of beef atop with a bed of sautéed onions.  And finally what I had me swooning is the cheese!!! Just how much of cheese are we talking about here?

Torpedo Fries ($3.00)

This big guy here is the real winner for me; give it up for Torpedo Fries ay ay papi. Who in this world would resist cheese fries?

The fries were perfect - crisp on the outside but fluffy in the inside. Furthermore, they are swimming in gallon of cheese sauce. Please use a fork and not dip your fingers at it.

They are so filling that I could not even touch my cheesesteak and have to bring it home. So I suggest, you alternate it. By this mean, eat some fries then eat the cheesesteak then the fries again.

Overall, I did enjoy my meal at the Yellow Submarines. I urge everyone who is not able to buy a flight ticket to Philadelphia to head down to Toa Payoh and try the Philly Cheesesteaks.

I guess it’s not too late to wish my fellow foodies a Happy New Year!! Have a blessed 2014 and be sure to continue supporting our blog.
